Sasirangan is living-proof of how the preservation of the magical culture in South Kalimantan works through the art of baste stitching and natural dyeing.The ancient Sasirangan fabrics were made out of natural dyes, taken from parts of plants on mother earth. It was originally used as a medicinal cloth (“Betetamba” ; in Banjarese) and to ward off evil spirits. This magical history is the forte of Sasirangan and became the charming point that captivates many people.
